WORKSHOPS COMING SOON

The exercises in Lessons from the Climate Anxiety Counseling Booth make great workshops for group learning. Examples below! Details and sign-ups available soon.

  • A group brainstorm, on paper, of forms of care that workshop participants can offer and accept.

    Peer Support: Cultures of Care

“Let me know if you need anything”--but how? This is a workshop for established or forming groups looking to make their peer support and care practices stronger, more flexible, and better woven into their other activities. It’ll help you identify the kinds of support you’re willing to receive and offer, and figure out ways of asking and offering that work for you and others. If your group is already established, it’ll also allow you to examine and work around obstacles to mutual support in your group culture.

  • "Got Climate Anxiety?" written in chalk on a paved path.

    Easy (Climate) Listening

Pool and augment your listening skills for difficult or fraught topics—including, but not limited to, climate change—with this one-hour workshop. Whether you’re setting up a formal listening station to gather people’s impressions and questions, or making room for complexity and conflict within a group you’re part of, listening to others on a topic that you care about can be a challenge. This set of practices will solidify your confidence in difficult conversations and help you welcome the parts you can’t control.

    Tailored Workshops

We can co-create a workshop for whatever convergence of climate and community resilience, peer support and care, and climate reflection and transformation you’re hoping to add to your group or effort. I’ve done this with SEIU’s communications and media team, the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, the Warren Health Equity Zone, and Movement Education Outdoors, among others.
